With spring finally here my team and I have been doing a lot of organized moves. Recently, we moved a growing family into their brand new forever home. We were able to get them in and completely organized in three days. Yes three days! How did we do it? By following some simple guidelines that I’ve listed below.

Last week I traveled to the beautiful and sunny Palm Springs so I could participate (and to celebrate the 10 year anniversary!) in this year’s Altitude Summit (Alt Summit). Creative business owners from across the country gather every year to take classes, hear speakers and create! This year there were 2,000+ attendees with speakers that included Joanna Gaines (@joannagaines), Cortney and Robert Novogratz (@thenovogratz), Danielle Lucia Schaffer (@citygirlgonemom), Susan Peterson (@freshlypicked) Joy Cho (@ohjoy) and…myself!

Today I am excited to share with you all the details from the amazing meet and greet I had with Erin Condren last Saturday! As some of you may know, Erin is the designer behind the ultimate planner, the LifePlanner. As an organizer you guys know I love my planner and her planners make keeping track of everything I have to stay on top of so easy. When Erin and I met, we instantly connected over our shared love for all things organization and the fact that we are both twin moms! I had the best time at this event and even got a chance to interview Erin. Below are some videos of our interview as well as some exclusive pictures from the event. Finally, don’t forget to check out some of my favorite Erin Condren products that I use linked in this post!

A question I get asked all the time is “where is that product from?”, so today I decided to share five products I typically use when designing and organizing spaces. As a bonus, I am also sharing their less expensive dupes! Check out a few of my favorite products and their less expensive counterparts in this post!

Lately it seems as if everyone has hopped on the recent organization craze. Everywhere you look you see beautiful images of perfectly decluttered and beautifully labeled and organized spaces. But how do you actually get there? As a professional organizer one of the main things (among many others!) that I do is to help my clients declutter and then implement versatile organizational systems that continue to keep them organized after I leave. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: getting organized isn’t a one-time event and I don’t treat it as such. I focus on creating systems that will last based on the needs and current lifestyle and habits of you and your family. With those elements in mind, I’m able to implement solutions that will last because they support how you are already living, making it easy and intuitive for you and your family to adapt.

There is something about spring that inspires people to declutter and organize. But, like I always say, organizing is not a one time event but rather a way of life. Something I tell my clients is that a good rule to follow is at least once a year try to pull out and re-evaluate the items in each room of your home, and with spring quickly arriving what better time than now?

Happy Valentine’s Day, friends! During this holiday, I know how common it is to show the people that you care, but have you ever thought about doing the same for your surroundings? Ok, hear me out. I can’t think of a situation where a client has come to me and said that they are perfectly happy with the current state of their home. Instead, they have the room that always remains shut so that when guests come over they don’t peek in the room and see the mess. Or the annoyance that comes with not being able to find a top sheet in the linen closet even though there are dozens of sheets spilling off of the shelves. Or the embarrassment of not knowing where to begin to declutter, but they have finally “given in” and know they need some help from an outsider. You have invested time and money into your home and it ideally should be the place where you love to spend time and not a home where you find yourself avoiding areas just to stay sane. So, this Valentine’s Day I’m going to help you fall back in love with your home by focusing on four areas that could probably use a little extra love.

Like many of you, I wear many of hats throughout a day. Between being a mom, running a full-time business and managing my team, plus keeping my house and personal well-being in check it feels like there never is enough time. We are always searching for time to add to our day. Clients always tell me that if they had more time they could do XYZ and I get it. I know that I can’t change how many hours are in a day but I can change what I do in the environment where I spend my days. There are things that I can do throughout the day and week that can get me—and you, too—more in control and grounded so that when I lay my head down at night I’m not running through the laundry list of items still on my to-do list. And while I can’t dish out tips for how to master the work/parenting balance (is there even such a thing?!), I can tell you that there are things that can be done in your home to help save you time and sanity, which is a pretty big “win” if you ask me!

What I love about organization is that it allows for you to see what you have in each category of your home, so you’re less likely to buy duplicates or overbuy items that you don’t need. During the decluttering process, it’s important to take note of the items that you are discarding and determine if they are in sellable condition. Between yard sales and apps that make it easy to sell items, your clutter could easily turn into cash! But, is it worth the effort? It depends…

I have to say, there has never been a time quite like now in my career where there has been so much buzz about organization. After Netflix released it’s new series Tidying Up with Marie Kondo on New Years Day, there’s been so much chatter surrounding the tidying expert across news channels and press outlets, social media feeds, and friends, clients and family have brought it up on a daily basis.
