Let’s face it, life is busy these days! We all have a million things going on and sometimes it is hard to keep up. Even the most organized (ahem, I’m raising my hand over here) can have systems slip up throughout the week as life gets in the way.

One habit that I love to get back on track is a weekly reset. Weekly resets are a wonderful tool to quickly but efficiently tidy up your space and get your organizational systems back in place without the overwhelming stress of a “full house clean” or “whole day of organizing.” There are so many things in life that we can’t control but we can all make 10 or 15 minutes to reset a space to feel more in control entering the week.

My family does weekly resets everywhere from our kitchen to our mudroom to our living spaces but today I want to talk about bathroom weekly resets. If you are anything like me your bathroom can become your “safe space” throughout the week – also known as a mess – when it really should feel like a sanctuary for you to start your day. However, that can quickly change with a short weekly reset and a few organization systems set in place with Ball® home canning products.

Bathroom Organization with Ball® Jars

Before you start implementing weekly resets into your routine you need to give your bathroom a foundation that you are upholding each week. While you might first think of the kitchen or pantry when you hear Ball® jars, they are also a great option for bathroom storage.

I love the Ball® Collection Elite Jars for storing small items like cotton balls and q-tips. They are just the right size to have enough of these small items on hand without creating a large overwhelming set up on your countertop. These work great when paired hand in hand with a weekly reset so you are always keeping them stocked and ready to go (more on that later).

Ball® jars can also be used in your bathroom to create homes for things like your toothbrush (the Ball® Nesting Jars would be a great option here) or a pretty display of bath salts in the Ball® Storage Latch Jars (you know I am all about removing ugly packaging whenever possible).

Once you put a little work into getting systems in place with Ball® jars your weekly resets will become a whole lot easier.

How to do a Weekly Reset in Your Bathroom

The key to a weekly reset is keeping it manageable but helpful. With a few simple steps you will be able to get your bathroom in tip-top shape and ready for the week ahead. These are the steps I take when doing my bathroom reset:

  • Swap out towels for a clean set. If at all possible I love to have two sets of towels so you can make the quick change during your weekly reset without necessarily popping in a load of laundry.

  • Restock essential items like q-tips and cotton balls. Once you have these items organized in Ball® jars it will be easy to grab the extras from storage and top of the jars so you are never searching for something in the morning.

  • Check on supply levels for items in your shower. There is nothing worse than having to jump out of the shower soaking wet to grab another bottle of shampoo, am I right? Check on the levels of your products in advance or go ahead swap out your razor blade so your showers are prepped for the week.

  • This might not apply to everyone but I take a number of supplements throughout the week. I love getting all of my pills organized and ready for the week ahead in a pill box (like this one here).

  • Don’t forget about the TP. Don’t go all 2020 on me but double check and top off your bathroom toilet paper stash.

  • Clean your makeup brushes. You would be shocked at how dirty your makeup brushes can get and that can really impact your skin. A weekly rinse and clean (I love this cleaning pad here) will not only improve your skin but help prolong the life of your brushes.

  • Give your counters and mirror a quick wipe. Now I am not saying you have to break out the cleaning supplies but even a quick wipe with a microfiber cloth will remove water spots and make your space good as new.

And you’re done! See how easy that was? These quick weekly resets might feel easy but will make a world of difference in your mindset as you head into Monday morning.

Rachel, you have again opened my mind about Ball products I did not yet know existed. I am totally with you on moving our stuff into clear containers. That way we can see what we have where and how much. And stack them in congested areas of the home. Also, I live near an airport, and things get a sort of greasy dust that needs to be damp wiped. Today’s sanitizing cleaning wipes are just the thing. Thanks for a post that made me think!
