I have been a huge fan of Ball® home canning products for years and have used the products in my home as well many clients’ homes. I am so excited to share with you my favorite products as well as fun and unique ways to use the products throughout your home over the next 10 months.

To start, we are diving in and talking all about your pantry and using Ball® home canning products to get your space organized. I bet you think of the kitchen when you first think of Ball® home canning products but it is time to think outside of the canning box and start thinking about Ball® home canning products as an organizational tool.

While we are staying the kitchen today there won’t be any canned peaches here – I used some of my favorite Ball® home canning products in my kitchen to show you just how versatile they are in any space. I have said it before (and I will say it again) the pantry is the heart of you home and having an organized pantry will go a long way in keeping your family’s day to day life running smoothly.

When organizing any space, you pantry included, we always walk through a few steps: taking everything out, decluttering, sorting/categorizing, measuring for and picking products, decanting and putting everything away. The Ball® home canning products are the perfect option to help you walk through the steps of picking products and decanting and let’s talk about why!

Why You Should Use Ball® Home Canning Jars to Organize Your Pantry

You know how much I love decanting! Nothing makes my little organizer heart happier than recycling a big old pile of ugly packaging! Pantry packaging can take up so much valuable space that you need in your kitchen. The Ball® home canning jars are the perfect vessel to use when you are decanting items in your pantry!
That old saying “out of site, out of mind” is more true in your pantry than anywhere else in your home. If you can’t see what you have on hand you won’t use it or worse you might just buy more (gasp!) and create even more clutter in your pantry. I love using the Ball® Smooth Side Jars for pantry organization as it allows you to see everything that you have on hand. You can quickly glance at your baking section or cereals and know what needs to be restocked or used up.
The Ball® Home Canning jars are so easy to label and give you a variety of options for style in your kitchen. You know that I preach how important it is to label to reinforce the systems you are putting in place and to make it easier to maintain. When using Ball® home canning jars you are able to label them in a many different ways. For my pantry, I picked a cute retro black label but they also work great with vinyl decals or even stickers on the lids.
As you can see in my kitchen below, the Ball® home canning jars come in a variety of sizes and shapes. This makes them perfect for organizing EVERYTHING under the sun. I love that I could use the Ball® Smooth Side Wide Mouth Jars to organize bulkier items like flour and oats and Ball® Sharing Jar to organized smaller items like corn starch and a smaller bag of lentils.
When organizing something like pasta or rice it is helpful to cut out the instructions from the box or bag and attach it to the back or bottom of the jar. You will be able to easily swap out the instructions if you switch brands but also keep the details close at hand.
As many of you know I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s disease several years ago and had to make many changes in my life as result of the diagnosis. One of the changes that I made was eliminating as much plastic from my life as possible and switching to glass. I love the Ball® Home Canning products as they provide a healthy, glass option for food storage that is so much more sustainable than other plastic alternatives.
Whenever you are decanting items it is important to make note of the products expiration date. It is super easy to do this with Ball® home canning jars by placing a label on the bottom or back with the expiration date and then because the jars are glass you can easily peel it it off and replace it with a new date when you replenish.
Finally, you can’t overlook the super fun retro vibe that you get when organizing your pantry with Ball® home canning jars. I am obsessed with how the jars look in my space and it makes me feel like I am ready to start producing my own cooking show. Okay maybe not, I will stick with organizing but a girl can dream.
