2019: The Year in Review

I always love the end of the year as I get the opportunity to pause and reflect back on the year which if I am being honest, isn’t something I did at all during this year, so this is a welcomed opportunity. 2019 was Rachel and Company’s best year to date and that meant a lot of going and doing and not much time for reflection or at least I didn’t make the choice for reflection. I have a new year’s resolution for 2020 to do more pausing and reflection and less doing and going but for now, I will take the opportunity to do my annual thank you and highlights of the past year.

2019 was a tremendous year in some many different areas and I am extremely grateful for it all. I could not run this little business of mine without my team and I am so fortunate to have committed, enthusiastic, brilliant, organized, and loving team members that help make Rachel and Company the best organizing firm in the Washington, DC area (dare I say even outside the area?!)

And so this blog doesn’t turn into a sappy, long thank you note and therapy session for me, I will try to condense the 2019 highlights below!

For those of you reading, our clients, those that follow us on social media, read our newsletter, read our blog and most importantly my team of organizers, handyman and other team members, THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for making 2019 one for the record books!

I am wishing you all a happy and healthy end to 2019 and start to 2020!

2019 Highlights

  • Rachel and Company started its 11th year in business and worked with clients this year than ever before.

  • I was chosen as a Brand Ambassador for The Container Store and there are just a few of us in the country!

  • Marie Kondo, the organizing guru herself, featured two of my organizing projects on her Instagram account that went out to millions of viewers (here and here)

  • My girls were featured on a tv segment of The Rachael Ray Show and we traveled to NYC.

  • I had the honor of speaking at an event in the Hamptons this summer hosted by Carrie Underwood and her athleisure brand, Calia by Carrie.

  • My organizing advice and tips were featured in several publications, including Real Simple, Apartment Therapy, Southern Living, Travel + Leisure, NBC News, US News + World Report, Wall Street Journal, The Today Show.com + many more.

  • I got to speak at Alt Summit in Palm Springs, California

  • I worked on exciting partnerships and collaborations with brands like Erin Condren, iRobot, Boll + Branch, OXO, iDesign, Sweaty Betty, ARTKIVE and many more.

  • I hosted fun and informative events at several places, including Varnish Lane, Brambleton Town Center and spoke at an event for Ringlet and several women owned business owners in the DC area.

  • The team and I assisted clients with their moves into larger homes, back into homes after renovations, and downsized many clients.

  • I was chosen to be an IDesign Ambassador.

  • I attended the Mom 2.0 conference in Austin, Texas.

  • I got to travel and work outside the DC metro area in Chicago, Boston, New York, and Baltimore.

  • The team and I worked with some amazing clients on spaces that aren’t the most organized…until we got our hands on them.

  • Our Instagram (@rachelorgnizes) grew and we got to work with a ton of clients that founds us on Instagram as well as meet brand new people that started off as strangers and are now friends!

  • I got to teach tons of clients about greening their homes and lives and how organization plays a part in things.

  • Our product line, LIFE DESIGNED, has been selling like crazy! (meal planning pads, to do pads and weekly to do pads)

  • My Organizing Business Insiders Facebook group for fellow organizers (or soon-to-be organizers!) which has expanded to a community of 700+ members.

  • I worked with the TODAY Show parenting team on a back to school piece and took over their Instagram account.

  • I have coached several professional organizers on growing their own businesses.

  • My online course for families to get organized once and for all has sold a ton more copies!

  • The team and I designed and organized some pretty amazing closets, garages, pantries and more in conjunction with The Container Store and California Closets
