Fifteen years ago, I started my luxury organizing business with a simple label maker, a deep love for order, and a desire to help women feel calm, capable, and at home in their spaces. Since then, my business has grown, and I am incredibly proud of where it stands today. With an all-women team, loyal clients, and a mission that continues to fuel me, I’ve learned countless lessons. Below, I’ll share the 15 most important ones I’ve discovered along the way about leadership, luxury service, and running a luxury organizing business.

Here are the 15 biggest lessons I’ve learned along the way—about leadership, luxury service, and showing up fully as a woman in business.
1. You’re not “just” organizing—you’re changing lives.
Clients may initially call because their pantry is a mess, but they stay because we provide peace, clarity, and confidence. In fact, the impact is far greater than many people realize.

2. How you make someone feel matters more than what you do.
Luxury is not about labels; instead, it’s about experience. From the first email to the final walk-through, clients remember how we made them feel in our presence—and that’s what matters most.
3. The details are everything.
It’s the way the baskets line up, the labeling style, and the follow-up after we leave. Our standard is always high, and clients can feel that.
4. Team culture is the foundation of everything.
Moreover, we are a women-run, women-powered company. Trust, respect, and having each other’s backs are non-negotiables in our business.
5. You can’t grow if you don’t let go.
At first, delegating was difficult. However, my business only grew when I stopped trying to do everything myself and trusted others to take ownership and shine.
6. It’s okay to evolve.
The business I run now looks very different from five—let alone two—years ago. But that’s a sign of growth, not inconsistency.

7. Luxury clients want clarity and confidence.
They are not just paying for aesthetically pleasing bins. Instead, they are paying for your expertise, your polish, and the ease you bring to their lives.

8. Leading with kindness is powerful.
I used to think that being “soft” meant being “less than.” However, leading with heart has built stronger teams, deeper trust, and long-lasting client relationships.
9. Boundaries build respect.
I no longer answer texts at 10 p.m. or apologize for not being available 24/7. Clear boundaries lead to healthier work-life balance and, ultimately, happier clients.
10. Invest in your systems.
From onboarding clients to invoicing, professional back-end systems elevate the experience—for both clients and your team. Without efficient systems, growth becomes increasingly difficult.
11. There is no perfect time to take a leap.
Whether you’re launching new offers, raising your prices, or expanding your team, it always feels a little scary. Nonetheless, you must take that leap anyway.
12. Not every client is your client.
It’s important to say no when something doesn’t feel aligned with your values. After all, your energy is your most valuable resource—protect it.

13. Surround yourself with women who inspire you.
This company is built on the strength, wisdom, and resilience of the women beside me. Without a doubt, this will always be my proudest accomplishment.

14. You don’t need to shrink to be successful.
Speak up in meetings, share your vision, and raise your rates. There is more than enough room for you to take up space in a luxury organizing business.
15. Rest is strategy.
Burnout is not a badge of honor. In fact, creativity and clarity come from rest—and I make it a priority to protect mine fiercely.
