My girls went back to school this week and I can’t believe we are already starting school! It feels like just yesterday we finished up virtual learning in the spring. The girls are doing still virtual leaning this semester (see all my tips for online learning here) but one thing certainly hasn’t changed this back to school season — we are all here for the snacks!

Whether your kids are doing online schooling, heading back in person (see my tips for in-person learning here) or even if you don’t have kids; we all needs some good snacks around the house! And you can’t forget lunch! Just because you are at home doesn’t mean the kiddos (also known as your coworkers) don’t need a healthy school lunch. In our house being prepared with snacks and meals is even more important because of my dietary restrictions (see more here). Popping out for a drive-through lunch isn’t an option on my diet so staying prepared and organized is key. I don’t eat dairy or grains, but over the years I have assembled quite a list of favorite snacks that don’t contain these ingredients.

I have compiled below a list of our family’s favorite snacks both for kids and adults, my favorite gluten free and dairy free snacks and some great products for staying organized for lunches both at home and at school.

So many of our favorite snacks come from Thrive Market. Are you signed up? If not, you must right now – you will thank me later! Thrive Market is membership-based online shop that offers natural and organic food products at a really reasonable price point. Their selection is amazing, everything is 25-50% below retail price AND all shipped right to your front door. Sign up here to receive a free gift when you sign up.

Finally, you know that I believe organization is the key to success in most things in life, including snacking. Checking out these blog posts on organizing your fridge and organizing your pantry so you can start the school year off on the right food.
