And just like that, it’s December! I’ll be spending this weekend at the first of several holiday celebrations, checking off the last couple of gifts on my girls’ wishlists, and prepping a few meals for another busy week.
During this time of year I’m always amazed at how many commitments are in the queue and how little time there is to do it all. I rely on my family’s calendar to make sure everyone (including myself) knows what to do, where to be, and what’s to come.
3 TIPS FOR KEEPING ON TOP OF YOUR CALENDAR
There are a couple of scheduling tips that I recommend doing at the start of each month to make sure you’re keeping track of it all:
-
Get it all down on paper. This time of year is busy and between class parties, travel, hosting obligations, and celebrations you’ll be thankful for the visual reminder of what’s coming up.
-
Sort your to-dos. Use your calendar as a reference when creating your to-do lists. Between gift giving, party planning, and volunteering you’ll want to make sure your prepared in advance for each event so that you’re not scrambling last minute.
-
Don’t forget about yourself. Self care is so important and should be added to your schedule like any other priority. The holiday season can be stressful, so make sure to mark down time for yourself. Try out a yoga class, meditation app (I love Headspace), or get a pedicure and catch up on the book that you haven’t had time to finish.
What holiday plans are you most looking forward to this year? Decorating cookies? Tacky sweater parties? A fun trip? I’d love to know!
